Amid the escalating political fervor surrounding the arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has dismissed claims that the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 is a "forgone conclusion." In an interview with PTI, Ramesh drew parallels with the 2004 Lok Sabha polls, expressing optimism that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would be ousted from power in New Delhi.

Ramesh reiterated his confidence in the "five nyays" and "25 guarantees" outlined by the Congress for its 2024 Lok Sabha elections campaign. These pledges, including Yuva Nyay, Nari Nyay, Shramik Nyay, Kisaan Nyay, and Hissedari Nyay, along with associated guarantees, are central to Congress' strategy and campaign issues.

Taking a swipe at BJP's "Modi ki guarantee" slogan, Ramesh emphasized that Congress' guarantees are not centered around one person but are rooted in the party's collective experience and vision for governance.

Addressing his earlier "Tiger Zinda Hai" statement, Ramesh playfully remarked, "The tiger is not just alive but enthusiastic, vibrant, and full of life."

Contrary to notions of a predetermined election outcome, Ramesh pointed to historical examples, notably the Congress' unexpected victory in 2004 despite setbacks in state elections. He predicted a similar reversal in 2024, challenging the notion of inevitability surrounding the upcoming polls.

Ramesh's statements reflect the ongoing vigor and competitive spirit within the Opposition INDIA bloc as they challenge the Narendra Modi-led NDA government. With Lok Sabha elections scheduled between April 19 and June 1, and results slated for June 4, the political landscape is poised for intense campaigning, strategic maneuvering, and a keenly contested electoral battle.
